LG화학, 3분기 영업익 9021억원…'9년 만에 최대'<br /><br />South Korea's leading chemical maker LG Chem has reported its highest-ever quarterly operating profit.<br />According to the firm on Monday, its operating profit for the third quarter reached 784-point-8 million U.S. dollars.<br />That is a whopping 159 percent rise compared to the same period last year,... and is an 'earnings surprise' that is far higher than the original estimate of 619 million dollars.<br />The sharp increase was mainly due to strong demand for the company's petrochemicals and car batteries.<br />LG Chem also estimated an 8-point-8 percent jump in revenue compared to the third quarter of last year.<br />The company will release its final earnings report on October 21st.<br />
